Before moving onto the filming process we had to decide where the location of the filming would take place. We first excluded any out door locations as we understood as we would be less likely to get enough members to film outdoors as it is cold and windy, aside from that factor if we decided to add diegetic sound at the end for comedic and realistic fun purposes, we would not be able to do so properly as the audio would be too badly affected by the wind and other natural factors.
Since outdoors was excluded, our options were left with indoor places. The options we had available to choose from were a group member's house, school building facilities or renting a room in Kettering to record.
In attempt to gather all of the cast members to come to one group member's house we understood it would not work as not everyone lived near and couldn't make it there easily as they lived a lot further away.
When it came to trying to rent a place to do our filming it was easily be too expensive for our group to rent, especially if the recording process took longer, then we would have to rent for more than just the one day.
The last option was to use the school and since it was convenient for everyone to attend after school it was easily our most suitable option. Since the school building was our only option of location to record in we had to decide which room would be be most suitable to be used.
From my previous AS project we understood that the facilities and rooms we had available were limited and the only suitable choice was in the sports pavilion. Although, this time around we have the opportunity to the school theatre after school for our filming, since it was a lot better it was most likely to be our choice of location unless it is occupied at the time.
Since we had a slot available to use the room the location we have chosen to film our music video is in our school building theatre room, this room gives us a lot of space and a wide area to make a fun a up beat music video and it gives the cast freedom to easily move about the location without any obstacles. The room has a choice of configurable lighting that we can take advantage of, the theatre also has a high end speaker system to play the song loud and clear for the casting to feel more comfortable dancing to it.
