Me As A Consumer Of Music

The genres of music I listen to are Hop-hop, RnB and a little house music.  My favourite artists are Drake, Justin Bieber, Rihanna. The reason I like these artists is because I think they are up beat and sound very good. I also feel this type of music is good to dance to and makes me feel happy.

I have been influenced by the music I listen to by the people I have been a friend with when I was younger and hang around with now. I would not listen to Goth music or Heavy Metal as it sounds bad and makes me feel very uncomfortable. I would also not listen to Goth and Heavy metal because there is to much screaming and I don’t understand what they are saying and it is always gives out a negative vibe.

I listen to music all the time whether it is in the shower or sitting on my bed chilling out playing Xbox. Also they type of music I listen to varies on what I am doing or where I am, for example if I was playing Xbox I would listen to more upbeat songs by the artsiest I have chosen to get me in the mood of playing. And if I was going sleep I would listen to more down beat songs. I play music via my Ipad or IPhone with headphones using an App called “IMusic” and I also stream through “Spotify” I do this because it is a free, quick and easy way to stream music.

I listen to the radio in the car but sometime I will use Bluetooth and use my phone. I will either listen to Radio 1, Heart or Capital; this is because these radio channels all have the types of music I like. I do not buy any Cd’s as I can download songs or listen to them for free and I don’t have to put a Cd in a Cd player to play my music. All I have to o is tap the song I want to play.

UK record label investment in British & international music talent helps UK recorded music sector to achieve another £1 billion-plus year and global success – and fans to enjoy music in more ways than ever before. However there has been a massive increase in the consumption of music via streaming because it is free. I can relate to this, as I do not have to go to a store and spend money on buying music hen it is at home on my devices. Also I don’t know many people that still buy CD’s therefore the Music industry could be loosing out on a lot of money.
