This music video agrees with Andrew's first point. This music video fits into the genre of urban, the most commonly conventions for an urban music video are that the mood is set quite calm and that they are either on the streets or in a very expensive area in a big house depending on which side urban the song is. Besides this the other conventions are that there is usually a black male as a main artist, either in desperation or loving life and showing his prised possessions. This video proves the fact that the music video will demonstrate the genre's characteristics.
This music video also backs up Andrew's second point. The lyrics of this song really create the vibe and relate to the visuals and atmosphere showed in this music video. For example of this is a quote from the song "as we spin around in darkness" which relates to the mood of the video which is dim and slowed down.
This music video also approves Andrew's third point. This music has a strong relationship with the visuals and they complement each other nicely. The video has a slow tempo with a dark/dim filter which creates the mood to be more depressing. The video seems to have no happiness throughout which is I illustrative of the video.
The music video mostly disagrees with Andrew's fourth point. This music video rarely includes close ups of the main artists, in fact it is a montage of objects and a female underwater. The main artists actually receives less screen time than the montages get and when he does it is not always a close up, it is usually a mid/long shot.
The music video also contradicts Andrew's fifth point in some ways. This music video does not really show women in a voyeuristic manner even though it is common that for most music videos to do this, especially in Hip-Hop and Urban genres. As the male and female in the video are appropriately dressed and not revealing, I think that the music video doesn't correlate with Andrew's 5th point
